From inception, persons development have never been a problem to IDEA. Mention could made of the enviable and unparalleled efforts of our late fathers, in persons of HRM Oba E.O. Fakunle, High Chief I.O. Falooro and a host of others on their enterprising, fortuitous and futuristic efforts at developing talents that abounded during their times. In fact, there is no gainsaying that the founders of this body had done exceedingly well in the area of Capacity Building both in terms of educating, by way of facilitating people's admissions into higher institutions of learning and sponsoring persons in different schools, the younger folks in Iye Ekiti and by way of getting the for long, non-existent jobs out for Iye indigenes.
With these enviable efforts from our history, coupled with individual parents', Iye Ekiti can today boast of having illustrious sons and daughters in all walks of life. Subsequent executives of this body can only build on the unshakable foundation betrothed on them by these fallen heroes. With these in mind and given the unprecedented rate of development all over the globe, the new President, Engineer Femi Kupolati, on assumption of office on the 26th December, 2014, had made Capacity Building one of the major pillars of his administration's policy thrust. In fact, he was emphatic that IEDA shall not relent in her efforts to ensure that Iye indigenes anywhere and everywhere are able to take and maintain their footings in whatever area of human endeavour they might have chosen for themselves. As a first step to buttressing what he said, less than a week after the inauguration of his administration, two curriculum vitae data banks, [email protected] and [email protected] were opened and our unemployed graduates were advised to be dropping their CVs in them. mention should be made that some of those that were first to drop their CVs have started enjoying the fruits of IEDA's magnanimity. IEDA efforts at capacity building has not stopped there as the body has been using her weight to get qualified Iye indigenes into other employments. For instance, for the first time in Iye Ekiti history, four of our sons were able to make it through in the recently concluded Nigerian Army Recruitment while we were also able to help one through into the Nigerian Navy. According to the President, Engr. Femi Kupolati, IEDA will not rest on her oars in this effort to ensure better placements for all and sundry in Iye Ekiti. |
